Since its inception, MediaLab Madrid was conceived as a research and socio-cultural innovation process, exploring a trans-disciplinary, sustainable approach for knowledge generation and transfer. To do so, it fosters interaction and collaboration among artists, scientists, technologist and other knowledge producers. The aim is to generate an open, porous environment that fosters the emergence of collective creative processes, connecting people, projects, entities and institutions from a wide variety of fields.

Our aim is to experience new hybrid forms of knowledge production and transfer in networks, able to dynamize open innovation processes in the art-science-technology-society (ACTS) context. This contributes to achieving social recognition for science and technology as culture and for art, design and narrative as forms of knowledge.

Medialab Madrid has served several purposes since it was created: from participation in creation and conceptualization to production and other forms of collaboration and/or organization. Several of these projects are described below:

Interactivos? 2006 is a project that arose from the ongoing collaboration among David Cuartielles, Zachary Lieberman and Hans Christoph Steiner, the team at MediaLab Madrid / Centro Cultural Conde Duque and Banquete.
